About us
Dordogne Baby-Sitter Service (DBSS) is a young and energetic babysitting service that is French, English and Dutch speaking. We provide childcare for children from 0 to 12 years.
Our experience ranges from childcare during weddings and parties until the late hours, to holiday care where parents can relax knowing that their children are in safe and trusted hands.
All our babysitters are carefully selected. They have extensive experience in childcare, or are parents or grandparents themselves who have proven their knowledge, commitment and love for children.
In addition, they all have a valid and up-to-date Bulletin 3, so you can rely on our service with confidence.
Our method
To ensure the safety of the children, a babysitter can care for a maximum of 2 children under the age of two and 3 children over the age of two at the same time.
It is possible to book a babysitter for several days, with a minimum booking period of 3 hours each time. This minimum is set because babysitters sometimes have a longer travel time to get to the location. With this minimum booking period, they can happily take care of your little ones.
Do you want to extend the booked hours during the babysitting service? Discuss this directly with the babysitter.
If desired, you can – depending on availability – add an extra day to your booking. However, this must be arranged in consultation with DBSS and not directly with the babysitter.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you book your babysitter as early as possible, especially during the busy high season when weddings and events often take place.
Our babysitters are used to working long hours, even during busy periods such as the wedding season, and can stay until the early hours if necessary.
For a booking of several days, we try to make the same babysitter available. However, especially during the high season, this cannot always be guaranteed.
If you book a babysitter for several days, or if you need a babysitter who works late in the evening and starts early the next morning, it may be necessary to provide accommodation for the babysitter. This must be discussed and arranged in advance.
Finally, we ask you to fill in a registration form with information about your children. This form, which you will receive after booking, helps us to provide the babysitter with all the necessary information so that they can provide the best care. We request that you return this form to us no later than three weeks before your booking.

- The location where you need the babysitter
- The date(s) on which you want childcare
- The number of children and their ages
- The expected start and end time of the babysitting
We advise you to schedule the babysitter approximately 30 minutes before your departure. This gives you the opportunity to get acquainted and review all necessary information.
Rates
The costs for a babysitter are € 23 per hour per babysitter, plus a travel allowance of € 20 per day per babysitter.
Payment must be made in cash to the babysitter on the day of the babysitting service.
Please note that you must pay the babysitter for all hours booked, even if you return earlier than planned.

The booking costs are € 35 per babysitter per day.
These costs must be paid in advance upon booking and are intended for the administrative work involved in scheduling your babysitter. Because most of the work is already carried out at the time of booking, these costs cannot be refunded in the event of cancellation.
Please note that DBSS booking fees are separate from the rates charged by the babysitters themselves.
